 Coaches Information Minimize

Head Coach: Michael Cutler
Mike has over 13 years coaching experience, eight years in Grand Rapids and five years in Traverse
City. Mike has coached two SportstoursUSA teams (Australia 03 and Sweden 04) and Team Michigan
at the 2005-2007 Zone meets. He was the 2008 & 2009 Head Coach for Team Michigan at Zone. Mike has coached age group, Jr Olympic, State, Zone, and Sectionals level swimmers. Mike swam at Grand Rapids Creston and Grand Valley State University. Email: coachmcutler@riptide.org

Assistant Coach: David Carson

David joins us upon relocating from southeastern Michigan (Plymouth). David has been involved in swimming since he was 12 years old. He was a four year varsity swimmer at Salem High School and was team captain his senior year. He began coaching as a USA head assistant swim coach in 2004 for the Huron Valley Penguins. In 2006 David was elevated to head coach for both the girls and boys high school swim teams for Walled Lake Central High School. He had the honor of the MISCA 2007 Women's Zone 3 Coach of the Year award. Email:  dafly1983@gmail.com

Assistant Coach: Terri Eudy
Terri has extensive background and degrees in exercise physiology and education. She has 15 + years of coaching experience at the college, high school, YMCA, country club and Age Group levels. Terri has been selected as a coach and researcher by Michigan Swimming and United States Swimming to conduct training seminars and research activities in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the Olympic Training Center and ICAR, the International Center for Aquatic Research.  She previously served on the board of Michigan Swimming, Inc., as Safety Chair and Review Committee member. Assistant Coach: Abby Schuyten
Abby has been involved in Rockford Aquatics for some time, first as a swimmer for Rockford High School and is now an assistant coach for the girls High School swim team. Abby has been coaching with Riptide for many years and has attended additional coaches training with the club coaches. Abby is also a college student and assists with the Egypt Valley swim team in the summer.

Assistant Coach: Jordan Appleyard
Jordan is a college student at GVSU studying elementary education.  Jordan has a great swimming background and comes out of the GLA program in Kalamazoo where she at one time held a State Record in Backstroke.  She has coached in the past for Vince Gallant at GLA teaching younger, beginner swimmers. Jordan is a positive presence on the pool deck and a pleasure to have as part of our swim club.

Assistant Coach: April Teller
April is also a college student at GVSU majoring in exercise science. April has many years of experience in competitive swimming. She swam with a USS swim club and on her High School varsity team on the east side of the state, specializing in breaststroke events. April has a strong passion for working with kids and for swimming and enjoys helping and teaching others. Her enthusiasm and knowledge in the exercise science field are a great addition to our fantastic staff.
